Zack update

Zack the Wonderdog is home! He will be on antibiotics for a while, and special food for a week. I believe Zack is as happy to be home as we are to have him here, alive and recovering. And Zoie is equally ecstatic to have her partner in crime by her side!

Whatever he ingested inflamed his intestines, infected his stomach, and caused some of his organs to enlarge. The x-rays were horrible – Zack had to be in such pain. The vet says we caught it just in time.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your prayers – I know that played a huge part in Zack’s recovery. Please continue.

And Zack sends love and lickies.

Loves and lickies right back!!!!! So glad he will be all right....
Pepsi & Sierra Mist send their best wishes, since they can't send toys & treats!

Yes, ma'am, he's off treats for a while! He would like to let you know that toys are good for his health! (Especially the ones he can take apart at the seams!)

Hugs to Pepsi and Sierra, and y'all! Thanks for your prayers!

Awww, Janie! I missed your post yesterday. Thank God he is home and (I pray) recovering quickly!! For all that damage, it sounds like your assessment may be right...were the vets able to confirm? Poor Zack! I can't even bear to think about the alternative to having him back home. So happy for you (and Zack!). Hugs. :-)

Gwynne - the vets were unable to confirm, but being that the dogs are kenneled with cover, and spend the rest of the time with us, it's pretty likely. (Lots of time, white foam at the mouth is a poison indicator.)

Thanks for your continued prayers. How is the Spartacus?

Well, I guess I'll have to wait to send him some "ears"...ew, I can't think those would be good for him, ever! Anyway, glad that Zack is up and bestowing loves and lickies. I'll see if I can find a suitable take apart toy to help soothe his need for treats! See you soon, love the ZZ crew and you and Steve, too.

You cannot know Janie how I dread what you have been going through , the telephone ringing , and something so unexpected sweeping you off your feet, but on the upside -- we are even more blessed, more grateful and if possible love him more. I was a basket case more than ususal yesterday walking in circles praying.

I had a pup ingest medicine once from a bottle and he was tipsy they could not even hold his tongue head falling over, Dr. said say goodbye to him and call for his body . I called and the nurse said you can come over now. When I got there, they said "wait-" opened the door and out came Ebbie, the puppy , who lived 13 years. Talk about blessed. like you ..

Hopefully Zack's breath is better than Abbye's, but if not, I'll take the love and pass on the lickies! ;-)

But that's great news, and we're happy to know that he's on the road to recovery.

Janie, I'm so glad he's doing better.

It's horrible when our animals are hurting, and we don't know what it is. If only they could do a little better job of communicating.

P.S. Congratulations on your Fair Havens haul! Wow! What an accomplishment!

Oh, Janie! I confess! I didn't know about Zack until this moment. I didn't pray for his healing but I am thanking God that he's going to be alright! I know how precious those dogs are to you because we're the same way about our's. Butch sends him a 'lick'!!

Jeff - thanks so much, and thanks for your prayers!

Cat - Woohoo is right!

Pam - what? You don't like pig ears? Heh.

Sandy - I know, girl. We're definitely considering Zack's recovery a miracle - and no residual after effects. Thank God.

Eric - Zack's breath is back to normal, so I bet you'd take love and lickies. He's a sweetie. They love him at the vet's.

Spooky - thanks so much, and thanks for your prayers. Have fun in Dallas!

Chatelaine - thanks for your prayers and hugs!

George - thanks for your prayers. It was hard. And as to Fair Havens, I'm so excited - and humbled! YAAAAH!

Gretchen - thanks for your prayers!!

Inspired - Thanks so much - and Zack sends lickies and love back to Butch....

Poor, poor baby! It just breaks my heart when poor innocent animals are hurt, even when accidental. Hope your baby is on the highway to recovery.

Whew. Glad to hear your boy's okay. Sounds like he needs to stick to what's on the menu.
