Please Pray for Zack the Wonder Dog

I'm asking for prayers for our wonderdog Zack. He woke up Tuesday morning about 3:45 a.m., violently vomiting. The vet has determined that Zack has ingested something - there is no virus or infection. Zack has been hospitalized at the vet clinic since Tuesday morning.

Since our dogs are kenneled during the day, and with us in the house at night, and there were no changes to his routine, we have been doing an investigation of sorts. It pains me to tell you that the only thing we can figure out is that Zack may have ingested a poisoned mouse. (We had an exterminator in two weeks ago.)

Your prayers are greatly appreciated. As you know, this dog is a huge part of our family (and this blog!), and is part of the land with which the Lord has entrusted us. We are crying out...Lord, heal our land.

Prayers said and done.......
Gsp are prone to several digestive possibilities...Bloat, poisoning ( that darn curiosity) and what is called colic in horses--twisted gut?
I had a Golden Retriever that we took to the lake with us that got VERY ill--vomiting ect and liver enzymes were out of whack. It took several weeks, but she DID get well. We finally figured out that she had rolled in some mushrooms at the lake and ingested them by licking her legs (which she did a lot) Please keep us posted---

Karen - thanks so much. I know you understand!

Jeff - thanks so much, and I know Zack and Zoie would love to meet Sadie!!

Cat - I know, girl, we do love our pets, don't we? Thanks so much!

Terri - thanks so much, and yeah, I know about the GSP deal - we've had our ups and downs with Zack, from day one. But he is SOOOO worth it.

Just so all of you know, my 5pm vet report is that Zack was able to keep food down this afternoon. They're still observing him, I'll know more tomorrow. Thanks to all of you, we appreciate you all more than you will ever know.

Oh Janie, I'm so sorry about this. Over the years my cats have gotten sick from poisoned mice, so I know how very serious it can truly be. God speed on his recovery. Poor baby.
