Saturday on the Square in Santa Fe

We walked around the square this morning after breakfast. It’s so pretty in Santa Fe!The high was 65 today, lots cooler than 90 degree Midland, America!

We hooked up with our friends Doug and Karen and Dee and Karen from Dallas, and just ran around. It’s a beautiful day, maybe a little cloudy. Did a little shopping (Yeah, Coldwater Creek) and came back to the room for a nap.

Tonight, we’ll be in formal attire, going to a reception at the Georgia O'Keefe Museum, then to another at La Fonda. Then, we have dinner reservations at the Bull Ring, which is a really cool restaurant with rave reviews. Tomorrow, we're making a run to Taos and Red River with our friends. It will be fun!

I’ll post pix when I can!

We're in Santa Fe!

I’m going to have to get better at this posting once a day. I woke up this morning in Santa Fe and realized I forgot to post last night. We came in and crashed.

All I can smell is smoke this morning. There was a big prescribed burn fire in the mountains, and I’m sure it’s just residual smoke. We could see it all the way driving into to town, because the skies were very clear. This is the first time we’ve been able to smell smoke in our hotel at Santa Fe.

We’re staying at the Eldorado Hotel this year instead of La Fonda. It’s really pretty, and the amenities are much better at this hotel. The La Fonda is a historical hotel, and it’s neat, but their closets are about an inch wide, and you can’t get internet, etc. Anyway, I’m much happier at the Eldorado.

La Plaza Cafe, here we come. Huevos Rancheros a la Santa Fe!
