Some change is good!

Do you know what these numbers mean?

390 – 1:05pm – 3:30pm – 1 – 2:25

The numbers signify a huge increase in Midland to Tulsa air traffic via Southwest Airlines – and, we don’t have to change planes in Dallas, or layover, on the way up! One flight, one stop...SWA just cut about 5 hours out of my travel day!

Woohoo! I’m all for efficiency and getting home earlier…this change will be so welcome, somebody soon may be reaping dividends on their Southwest stock!

I wonder this is an effect of repealing the Wright Amendment? Probably not, since we're still having to touch down in Dallas. Probably just an effect of high traffic count from Midland to Tulsa - elementary, my dear Kelleher.

Hey Janie...

I've been ingratiating myself into y'all's little blog circle for the last couple of weeks, and I just realized I don't think I've introduced myself to you yet! I tried to comment back on your post about Continental Airlines, but for some reason, it wouldn't show up.

The gist of my original comment was something about how I personally love Continental Airlines. Given that I live in the Detroit area, Southwest isn't an option for flying home, and compared to the 'other' carrier that services Midland/Odessa, Continental has been near-perfect. That was it.

Anyway, I've been enjoying your blog! Keep 'em coming!

Hi, Tricia! Thanks for gracing the comments page of my blog! I think I read somewhere that you're a fellow West Texan (once removed) so of course, you're always welcome here!

If I lived where I could fly the big jets, I'd love Continental, too. But as I wrote, I'm stuck on the baby ones...at least 'til we reach Dallas or Houston.

Keep checking Southwest. I think the Wright Amendment Repeal will open up all sorts of things - and Southwest does service Detroit. Just not to here.

See ya soon!!

Oh, they're repealing it? I just can't even imagine getting that sort of distance without hopping all over the country! That would be so awesome...

Has it already been repealed, or is there a future date set? I'll definitely keep my eye on their website!
