Arrrrgh! Frustration!!!

Well, just shoot me.

It’s not as if I haven’t had a million things going on. Like getting laid off. Or going on vacation and getting sick WHILE on vacation. Or coming home just in time to help put on a team roping.

Not to mention wading through job prospects and trying to make decisions therein.

Two of the men in my life, ThatManILove and YoungerSon, had made a trip up to Ye Old College, secured an apartment for YoungerSon, etc. While they were there, they signed the Younger Son up for all his classes. I was so proud of them.

Except for...they didn’t pay for the classes. I remember asking the cost, and ThatManILove couldn’t tell me.

TMIL Oh, baby, I dunno. I’ve got those papers around here somewhere.

And then, in the next two weeks, voila! My world fell apart.

So, yada, yada, yada, yada. Here we are, one week before college begins, and I go online to pay for said courses.

The courses aren’t showing up on his transcript.

At.

All.

I sound the alarm. The alarmee turns on me.

TMIL: You said you’d pay those last week!

Me: I did?

TMIL: Yes. You said you were going to get online and pay them.

Me: I did?

TMIL: Did you?

Me: No, I mean, did I say that? I remember getting online and paying his rent.

TMIL: That’s what you said.

Me: What did I say? His rent? Or his tuition?

TMIL: Tuition!

Me: Oh, NNNNNOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Yup. We had to get Blondie up and head him towards the school, 2 hrs away. Now he’s renavigating through registration, and hopefully he’ll be able to get most of the same classes. Thank God today’s registration...y’all pray for him!

I think I’m going to run to Vegas before ThatManILove hits the casa this afternoon. Maybe I can make enough cashola to make up for my freakin’ mistake. Meanwhile, Vodka Mom, will you start designing my casket?

Janie, I'm frantically taking notes on all this, My Favorite Landman and I embark on this perilous journey just three years from now.

Your boy is fortunate to have a mom and dad who give a damn, and go the distance.

Things happen. Don't beat yourself up for it.

I'm sure things will work out in the end. :)

Oh, how aggravating! Paying for college tuition can be a frustrating and not-to-mention painful process -- especially since those friendly and kind folks who were around during Parents' Weekend and promised they'd help you with whatever you needed seem nowhere to be around when you actually need them. Good luck -- hope all works out well.

I had a lapse of memory that got me yelled at today so I feel your pain and frustration. Damn menopause!!!

Oh Dear...

Janie, I'm sorry things are off kilter for you right now, but just trust that things will work out. So far, it's nothing devastating. It will surely all work out!

I apologize for missing your comment about having lunch on Wednesday!!! My computer is about to completely die (something about the motherboard?) & I've been told to stay off it or I might lose some irretrievable & valuable information. So I'm on the laptop in our son's old room. I hate the laptop & spend too much time correcting mistakes because the keys are so weird! Our computer geek is having to order the parts to build our new computer and I'm like: "Hey, can't we just buy a new one at Best Buy?" Apparently not says the hubby. Whatever.

Anyway, I'm leaving for Austin on Saturday to enter my *red* hot sauce & my *green* hot sauce in the Austin Hot Sauce Festival competition on Sunday, August 30th. It's @ Waterloo Park downtown & it promises to be real scorcher (in more ways than one). Yippee! I'm so delusional that I keep entering this competition thinking I might win, LOL! Still, it's great fun, lots of great hot sauce tasting, good cold beer, hooking up with friends & son, and amazing Austin bands that play for the duration. I'll be back on Monday.

Talk to you soon...

Yikes! Somebody get the gun away from her!

I'm sure it will all be fine. But as a backup plan, you might want to get Vodka Mom that tape measure.
