ZZ Strikes Again!

Zack the Wonder Dog and Zoie the Wonder Pup Looking Innocent

This morning, MLH left for work earlier than I. As I was drying my hair, Zack the Wonder Dog wandered into our bedroom. He was licking his chops (Clue #1). I finished getting ready, and then put the dogs outside for the day.

I headed towards the front of the house, towards the front door. As I hit the entryway, I saw the sun glinting from something in the kitchen. I looked right, and realized that there was tin foil – shredded – all over the kitchen rug. (Clue #2)

I rotated back towards the stovetop…sure enough, the foil MLH had placed over the brownies I made last night was gone. I walked towards the brownie pan…yup. Zack the Wonder Dog had stretched up to the counter and done snagged him some Betty Crocker. Where once were cleanly cut lines of perfectly square brownies now resided a mound of partially eaten brownies.

The only thing that stopped Zack from finishing the entire pan? Geometry, pure and simple. The more he dug his snout into the pan, the more the pan pushed back on the stovetop. And little Miss Zoie the Wonder Pup? She made do with the satisfaction of shredding tin foil. She's grown a lot, but she's not quite tall enough to get into the pan...yet.

Tonight, I picked up Outback Takeaway…and both of the little darlins’ tried to sneak up on the table. This is a big no-no in our house. This time, I had the camera ready.

They’re really trying the old suck-up routine on MLH…and guess what?

It worked.

Is that really the same dog? If so , She sure has grown. I see Steve is a sucker for both of em. Anyway , love ya and good luck this week.

Yup, she's definitely been eating her wheaties. She's almost 40 pounds, nearly as tall as Zack, and only 5 months old this week.

(We think a Great Dane might have jumped the fence.)

Hey Janie-this is dejavou!!!! One of Pepsi's favorite food groups is brownies, followed closely by cinnamon rolls(yep, freshly baked-the whole pan) Chocolate may not be good for dogs, but it hasn't hurt our girls yet. Eddie says that it makes their hair coat darker! I don't like them to jump up on the counter either, but they do when dad is in the house. Not when it is just them and me, however! Pretty sneaky hehe

Terri - since it's your fault that we have Zoie, I'm going to start sending you a bill!

Can you believe how much she's grown?

By the way-Sierra is proof that tinfoil IS digestable. Good Luck with the new job. How about Lily? Is she a great dog too?

2 such gorgeous innocent faces. Looking at them, who would believe they could possibly be responsible for that?

All right now. I really thought that chocolate was not good for dogs...only for ME! And I KNOW that foil is no good. Zack, keep your paws and nose out of MY brownies (even if I'm not there!), and Zoie, please don't eat the foil, YUK! Janie, I don't know, maybe you and Steve need a pie safe, bacon safe, biscuit safe...

No, NOT the brownieeeeeees! Bad dogs! But look at 'em...so innocent. Who can blame them? I love the shot of them crawling all over Steve for some scraps. ;-)

Dog what would we do without them. But you know what I don't ever want to find out.

MMMM, Outback!

My parent's dog, Duke, can eat anything off the countertop. He is famous for eating Power Bars (IN THE WRAPPER), entire loaves of bread, and anything else that is left out.

Thisisme - you sound like me, girl. These dogs get away with waaaay too much stuff because they are so cute!

Pam - Zack said he'd bake you a new pan if you'd just come on out to see us again!

Oh, my. Cub got a big chunk of fudge from a toddler on New Year's Eve, but she didn't have to try as hard as Zack did for that pan o' brownies!

Hi Janie!

Thanks for dropping by my blog. This story really cracked me up and made me think of a couple of things our Cairn Terrier did when she was still alive.

We had several couple friends over for dinner one night for bloody mary rib-eyes. We were all dining outside, so I was getting ready to put the steaks on the grill. I had all the steaks on a cookie sheet but had to set the heavy pan down so I could lift the top off the grill which took approximately 3-4 seconds. By the time I turned around the dog had, without even being seen, raced up to the pan of steaks, grabbed TWO of them & sat looking innocently as if she'd done nothing in less than 10-15 seconds. Since I knew none of my guests would have snatched the raw meat, we knew who the culprit was...

Then, one time we were @ the lake & had been out on the boat all day. We'd had to leave the dog behind because we had so many people. When we walked through the door, I glanced at the watermelon we'd left on the floor & thought it looked funny. The closer I got, I saw that there was a huge hole bored into the side of it. About that time, here comes the dog with one of those REAL hang-dog looks and the hair & feathers all around her mouth were watermelon red. Hmmmm.... I didn't know dogs were into watermelon eating, LOL!

Cheers ~ Snooty

Those are funny stories, Primadona! Our pets make for much blog fodder, do they not? ;)
