After much discussion and thought, we decided to try to find a new German Shorthair pup…more for Zack’s sake than anything. We are both torn about this decision - after so recently losing our sweet Zoie-girl, it doesn’t seem like we’ve even had time to grieve. Zack is definitely showing signs that he misses Zoie, however, and we don’t want him to suffer. He does so well with a companion.
So the search begins. We’ve alerted our friends, and they are all searching their networks, sending us pictures of litters, details, the works.
We want to thank you for all your thoughts and prayers and comments during our time of loss, and ask for you to continue as we go forward. We’ll definitely miss little Zoie, the Wonder Pup, and don’t know how another pup could possibly fill the huge void she leaves behind.
For Zack, we will push through.

I heard there was a guy around Post that had some really good ones -- can't remember the name though....
Chris, thanks, I'll check it out.
How about a 12 yr old boy instead? Cooper has informed me he doesn't want to go to school, that he will find a job playing video games and playing with dogs instead. Just a thought....
Janie, so sorry about your loss, and although that void can't be filled, I hope this new pup brings you much joy.
Jill, haha my dad tried on me before, and no one wanted me!
Janie, I hope the puppy search goes well. My thoughts are with you all as you continue to grieve.
Jill - I'll take him! I do good with boys...and...we have a Wii. ;)
Bert - thanks so much! And, thanks for stopping by.
Thisisme - thanks so much, sweetie. Your prayers are muchly appreciated!
Good luck with the hunt for a new pup. So, I guess the one you saw that had the same bloodline as Zoie didn't work out, huh?
When you find one, I'm sure it will be the right pup for you all.
Snooty - That pup didn't work out, after all. Darn it!
I know it's hard to look at another puppy but once you find her she'll have your heart. I've been there and having Louie after Buttons helped me so much. I still grieved for her but Louie was just so what's the word....Louie till he had me laughing before long. As you know he's the wonder Beagle...but we wonder what he'll get into next!!!!
Good luck on your search. I know you'll find her.
If it's meant to be, you'll find a new companion. Everyone is different. Just because you get a new pup, that doesn't mean you're not still grieving. You aren't replacing your lost love, just giving a new pup a loving home.
Cat, Gretchen - both of y'all are so right.
God is great !
They don't fill I don't think but honor that special place- that place where love for an animal is given and cherished it moves to another . My dog is very poor at present and mentally I prepare myself - noone will ever be her, and her circumstance- but I honor her by giving to another .sandy
Everyone grieves in their own way and time- your wayis my way. During Hurricane Katrina, I heard of all the animals particularly puppy mills where animals were starving and yelping many dead- A group from Florida went there and brought back 135 . I took 3 that were squished in the same box kennel for years without regard or love. My igs had just died. These 3 Vonni, Vivvi and Chiara are a mess, but I had that love to give and it helped the hurting for Cinzia and Mia stop..sk
